alone...

it's been a while since i've been alone like this =). i like this. i need this! mom, kuya, and win are not home and i'm all alone! (well, manang is upstairs). i realized sometimes, you really need some time apart from the rest of the world. well, not naman everyday... that could make me crazy! =)



the past few weeks have been filled with festivities and merriment. plus my cousin's stay here turned our home into a haven of relatives hehe (which was good and happy!). he left this morning and suddenly our house turned into this peaceful nest again.



last night, we attended a family reunion/dinner and went home at 2am. sheesh 4 hrs! i can't recall the last time i slept at a decent, body-acceptable time. to think i had a monstrous exam/interview this morning. afterwhich, i met mommy riche (good luck tom!) for lunch. we learned that banana tempura is maruya with ice cream on top! haha yum!



my alone-hours started after lunch. riche said i could take a shuttle from valero to landmark but the shuttle left just as i was approaching it... haha! which was also good 'cause i decided to take the long way and walk my way to greenbelt! browsed a few books at powerbooks and headed home. when i got home, i felt so sleepy and took a nap. and by nap, i mean 3 hours hehe! now i feel rejuvinated and so at peace with myself. three smiles for that =) =) =)

soon? am i having memory lapses? or am i forcing
myself to have those lapses? haha! i dont make sense,

hmmm... after posting my "manang series" rants, i'm glad to announce that this might be manang's last week in our home. darn it! the days-off-parusa didn't end! hmmm... walang takot si manang ah! manang left last dec 31 to attend a christmas party in her mom's place. mom asked her kindly if she could come back early on jan 1 because our relatives dropped by for lunch that day... "uu ate! uuwi aku maaga! kaya nga dadalhin ko yung susi e!".



she went back early, as promised. the only catch, though, is she sprained her ankle (hmmm win says she's just pretending daw! haha!). so she said, she'll look for a manghihilot "nearby" daw. so ok... payag na naman si ma. ok... we found out that nearby meant an overnight session somewhere na naman pala. goodness! in short, we did all the dirty work na naman! on a holiday! we were joking, "uy bilisan natin ang paghuhugas ng plato para pagbalik ni mam galing sa massage session nya, ok na... napuyat kse sa party kagabi e. kakahiya naman kay mam!" haha!



haaay... she had to lie pa talga e no na di sya lalayo. didn't even call to inform us she'll be out for the night na naman. we're not rude naman! and we won't let her work if her ankle's really sprained... but why lie? hay naku malas talga kami sa maid. looks like ma's had enough of "the attitude!".



hay... looking forward to the new "manang" who'll HOPEFULLY arrive next week! yahoo! actually, we haven't informed the old manang yet. baka may maipuslit na namang gamit bwahahaha! the latest chika we heard? may boylet si manang! and we thought na baka nga si boylet ang nagconvince sa PS2 scheme! aaaaw! buti pa si manang a may boylet!!! haha! yun yun e! hahaha!

my life's little indulgences for the past week

my my! am i in a good mood! =) considering the fact that tomorrow is a working day again haha!



the past week has been a good one. it's a week off from the office... here are some of the little but satisfying indulgences i've had... mababaw, indeed! but that's what i am hehe!

spending christmas and new year with my family - people that matter most in my life.

having a break from worrying about OFACE and deadlines.

literally kain-tulog activity (well, for certain days only).

gulping about 4 cups of coffee - WITHOUT THE PALPITATION SIDE-EFFECT. that's neat, eh!

watching quite a few but fascinating fireworks on new year's eve.

munching a few bites of toblerone and ferrero and hedgehogs... hmmmm... yum!

sending away and receiving warm christmas and new year wishes.

reading ate maj's gift.

sleeping at 10pm last night - with relaxing incense before dozing off.

having to rest from cb's rants for 3 days.

having dinner with college chums.

having dinner with office chums and bowling after with family.

receiving a couple of hugs and kisses from my angelic niece and nephew.

finding out about certain truths about people - thse are really helpful!

watching a couple of dvds: finding nemo, wicker park (yongyong, thanks! i loved it!),

having a free day! today!

year starter

my second post for the year. the first one was a year ender... now i'm doing a year starter. let me recap the wonderful and not-so-wonderful events that helped shape my existence for the past year... past year? it feels odd referring to "yesterday" as "past year" hehe. anyways, i'll give it a shot:

wonderful: for the earlier part of the year, everything was normal. and normal meant being in a supposedly "mutual" honest commitment with someone. yup even if there was really a high level of uncertainty, i held on to something i thought was stable.

wonderful: we nursed 2 balikbayans last year... ate elaine, jan 2004 and kuya alain, dec 2004. that's neat! we started and ended the year by being hosts to beloved balikbayans... =)

wonderful: servisoft outing, outing with college chums, lagos with 2 bis (tric ride hehe)... oooh! with the 2-pc outfit! i never imagined i'd have the guts to wear that! haha kapalan lang talga ng mukha!

wonderful: other memorable trips: HK with ma: my first out-of-the-country trip. tagaytay with liza and riche: my first horsie-ride!

not-so-wonderful-at-first-but-turned-out-to-be-wonderful: come august, weeks before my birthday, i had my first heart break. yup, i guess this was the highlight of the year. having my first sagad-sa-butong emotional pain. i'm making it sound so bad no? 'cause that was how i felt then. i dunno... i guess i just felt that i was just too sheltered and i thought that was enough to shield me from the storms of dear life.

wonderful: having this online diary thing... aka blog. it was really cool! although i'm putting myself in a very vulnerable spot, almost allowing just anybody to go into my mind, it's a pretty good way of releasing what's inside - happy or not. oh, it's also a best chika form with my friends. o diba? aware ako sa buhay ng ibang tao! haha...

wonderful: boot camp! the extra-challenge-look-alike adventure i had! it was really the best! i gained a couple of good friends there and i became aware of my physical capabilities and limitations. i would love to do that again!

wonderful: i remember meeting and gaining a couple of new good friends and confidantes... building this really good rapport with my co-employees... and i don't remember losing any friend or having any major fight with someone. even with the one man who broke my heart.

wonderful: at home, everything was pretty good. usual petty quarrels and tampuhans but nothing really that catchy and alarming. everything is almost always in perfect harmony with my mom, kuya, and win.

not-so-wonderful-at-first-but-turned-out-to-be-wonderful: bought a pregnancy kit... the catch is... it's not for my personal use. haha as if i have a reason to use that kit! not in the next umm... 20 yrs? how could i forget the moment:

caths *whispers: "manong, medic nga po" (medic is the brand)

manong-mercury-drug *shouts out loud: "aaaah! yung pregnancy kit?"

everybody else: looks discreetly at me...

caths: duh sana lamunin na ko ng lupa!

it was a great news... new life is always a wonderful news. =) and the wedding is a wonderful news as well!

not-so-wonderful:unstability in the work area. although i'm happy with the people i work with, there's always this doubt that something's bound to happen soon... nega as it may sound, i'm sensing it will not be that good. =(

so summing it all up, almost everything turned out to be wonderful. =) i would like to be as positive as i could be. it may not be a very spectacular year, but heck! i lived and survived with the ones i love and God is definitely this constant source of good things and blessings. and i'm trusting Him just the same that He will guide us all this year... that He will do what's best for all of us. God bless us all =).
